After more than a year of fighting this thing, with equal parts joy and fear, it's finally done. We are thrilled to present Thirty Thousand, part exuberance and part solemnity, sometimes ragged, inhabited by history, loss, and hope. We have videos of the somewhat chaotic recording process, and you can stream the album in its entirety here. New shirts are in, and you can order a CD as well. We hope you enjoy it. Also, don't forget! This weekend we are playing our record release shows, so come celebrate with us!

Hello. Thanks for stopping by. We are nearing completion on our first full-length album and we are very, very, super excited to share it with you. Pumped. Stoked, even. It's been a long time coming and a labor of love. Songs will start showing up around the internet as we start getting the mixing done, be prepared (keep bottled water and batteries in your pantry). More shows are on their way, too, so don't forget about us. Be ready for new songs, new videos, and a new website with features like an advice column, candy reviews, and printable back massage coupons! Web 3.0!

Happy Holidays everyone, we hope your time off is serving you well. We have some very exciting things going on right now! As we near completion of our debut LP, Christian and Travis have recorded three of the new songs out in the December snow. These live acoustic versions were captured in Christian's backyard and comprise the three-part series, Snow Songs. The songs are Untitled #1 aka "Last Chance," "Silvery Sea," and now "The Calendar's Song." They all deal in some manner with Argentina's Guerra Sucia that took place in the 70s and 80s. Get learned by clicking here! The videos are in the "About Colonies" section of our Myspace profile and also here! ALSO! For an indefinite time, we have decided to let everyone download our EP, Sleep Patterns for FREE. If you click here, you can download the whole EP in a convenient .zip file. Hooray! Whether you're watching movies, reading books, eating cookies, or just drinking alone, we hope your holidays are warm and safe."

TOO much snow!

August 16th, 2008
Saludos a todos! On August 4th, we began recording the full-length follow up to our Sleep Patterns EP. We tracked drums and bass at Floor Two in Tacoma, and since then we have set up shop at the home of Andrew Nalty, who is assisting us in production. We are extremely excited about the record. We are taking our time, paying attention to smaller details, which we know will pay off for us in the end. The album will include a re-recorded version of "Las Islas Malvinas," which we finished last year. We have also reworked "Floating Fast" with a healthy bridge and some Spanish lyrics. Speaking of Spanish, the album will feature "La Madrugada Viene Ya," a latin-flavored pop song with lyrics in Spanish. Get your Spanish/English dictionaries ready!

We have several shows coming up. We will be introducing some of our new songs at these shows. It will be well worth your time. Check our MySpace often for video updates of our recording.
